The Family History Guide has a wonderful training program. You can track your progress using the online program or use the document forms that can be printed. Family Search Project 1: Family Tree

Goal 1: Use FamilySearch to identify one or more lines to do Descendancy research on.

Goal 2: Use sourcing tools in Descendancy view.

The video above briefly discusses the records hint tool to help you research descenants.

The following video is about 30 minutes long. It was done through Ancestry.com. The first 8 minutes tells the basics of why a person might choose to do descendancy research. This video goes more in depth into researching descenants.

Goal 3: Use Puzzilla.org to identify one or more lines to do Descendancy research on.

Goal 4: Use the Relative Finder tool to see how you may descend from famous historical figures, or to join relative groups.
